George Washington once came to western Pennsylvania when he served in the British army under General Braddock.

When George Washington came to western Pennsylvania, he was not able to eat a shish-ka-bob dinner at Khalil's Restaurant because they did not open until 1972, so he left.

When George Washington became president of the United States, he tried to call Khalil's Restaurant for takeout, but the phone had not yet been invented, and, without cars, it would have taken about 10 days for the food to be delivered, and they still hadn't opened, so he went to the local bar instead.

During the Whiskey Rebellion, George Washington thought very seriously about returning to western Pennsylvania and having a lamb-shank dinner at Khalil's Restaurant, and maybe some stuffed grape leaves and baklava. He went to pick up the phone, and almost cursed when he remembered that it hadn't been invented yet, and then Martha told him that Khalil's still hadn't opened yet, so he cancelled his plans and went to Mount Vernon instead.

When George Washington decided not to run for a third term as president, he figured he'd jump in the car with Martha, drive through the hills in Pennsylvania or West Virginia, stop in at Khalil's Restaurant, since they have good food and a parking lot, and then head up to Niagra Falls after spending the night in a hotel in Cranberry twonship.

As he was the next president, it fell to Thomas Jefferson to break the news to him that West Virginia was not yet a state, that the highways had not yet been built, that cars hadn't been invented, that Cranberry Township had not yet been chartered, that there weren't any presidential suites in the inns out in that direction, and that Khalil's had not yet opened.

Once Thomas Jefferson heard about Khalil's Restaurant from George Washington, he kept on having a hankering for some hummus, felafel, and lifits. Since he knew that it would be over a century before Khalil's opened, he consulted his vice president, Aaron Burr, who reminded him of the advice that Ben Franklin used to give to people with troubled minds: keep busy.

So Jefferson undertook all sorts of projects.
